• Transferred to Adelbert College at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, 1895-96.
• Alternate-at-large from Ohio at 1928 Republican National Convention.
• Delegate from Ashtabula County, Ohio at 1932 Republican National Convention.
• Published the book John Brown and Ashtabula County, An Ohio Story in 1955.
• Amateur local historian and collector of books, stamps and historical papers.
• Much of his collection and personal papers were donated to the Ohio State Archaelogical and Historical Society and can now be viewed in the Manuscript Collection at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus.
• Has 2 unpublished manuscripts of historical novels.  These are also viewable in the manuscript collection at the Ohio Historical Society.
